(updated 5/10/19) It's time to replace the filters on this countertop. But I have to say: I get emails from this company almost every week. since my original purchase about a year ago. "Half off" or "Oh, we accidentally sent you a huge discount, but we'll still consider it" or "We've extended our discount for another day" etc. etc. If you order directly from this website, these are a few bucks more than via Revain. I originally paid $64.71 through Revain. If I follow the half discount spam email I get redirected to their website where the original price is almost double and it drops to $65-$90 with the half discount promo! In fact, as of today, I can purchase the exact same unit in its entirety for $57.13 OR I can purchase ONLY the replacement filters for $59.99!? BUT? Aquasana strikes me as more of a marketing company than a water filtration company. What a waste as I really like the device I bought! The water tastes good, installation was easy, but with all the 'bait and switch' marketing campaigns I'm a lot less confident! Why do you have SO different prices? Why not just offer the same item at almost the same price on all your platforms? Give or take a few dollars. I understand that Revain can get a portion of your sales, but ordering through your own website should be a little cheaper? This makes me think the focus is more on marketing and online clicks than quality products. Should I buy 2 replacement filters for $59.99 or just throw away my entire current unit, plastic case, metal fittings and tubing. throw it in the trash and buy a brand new device for $57.21? I'm not an extreme environmentalist, but this is just stupid! The device arrived on time with my main order of 2 days. Everything was in stock, all details were taken care of. I had to buy an adapter from a home depot for about $8 (it's the larger chrome one on the right) as the two adapters that came with it weren't long enough to fit my faucet. never mind Installation was easy after tightening everything with teflon tape. Run for 10 minutes as directed. After that only good clean water. Tap water in Vegas tastes weird, but it definitely passed my taste test. Almost like soft water. The only thing is that it's slow. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. I calculated 2 minutes to fill a 3 liter container. My workaround for this: I spent a few minutes filling my upside down 5 gallon water jugs and setting them on the dispenser. As shown in my drawing, I tied the pipes along the faucet so I had a full twist and no kinks. One last thing to note, I emailed the company to see how many gallons they recommend before changing the filters. 2 days later I received no reply. (Weekdays) After reading the booklet that came with it, I saw it was 450 gallons. My fault but I was still hoping for a support response within 24 hours or so. Let's hope I get something soon? In general, I put 4.5. If all goes well I'll consider a walk-in shower as well.
