Review on Songhe ESP8266 ESP-12E Serial WiFi Module for NodeMcu Lua WiFi V3 IoT Development with CH340 by Jamal Edwards

This is a great ESP8266 version for NodeMCU and I got 3 packs for less than $10. The screen print on the top is easy to read. The driver for the CH340G USB-to-Serial chip is easy to find (dot cn has it). It runs sample sketches and my custom thumbnails with ease. The only downside is that this board is wider (28mm) than some NodeMCU boards. When connected to a breadboard, the board covers all the points you would normally use (see first image attached). This makes it virtually unusable in a solderless breadboard (technically you can use the internal points by removing the board and using wires with 90° bends, see the third image attached). It also doesn't fit in an adapter like the 23mm adapter due to its size. ARCELI L293D WiFi Motor Drive Expansion Board Protection Module (see second attached picture). But there are shields that are suitable for this board.
