Review on Facmogu Wireless Bluetooth Amplifier Controller by Nathan Skipper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice cheap device. but NOT 300W + 300W

First thing said: According to packaging notes: Bass/Treble +/- 15dB (knobs give +/- 10dB) Frequency Response 10Hz - 20kHz THD+N 0.2% 20Hz - 20kHz Amplifier gives from 4 to 16) signal-to-noise ratio 92 dB. What struck me: Hard to tell about the tone controls; sounds more like +/- 15dB. Revain's description says 300W + 300W; not entirely possible. The rear of the amplifier supplies an input at 12V at 5 amps. Since P = IxE, 60W input power cannot produce 300W output power. So 60 watts x 0.707 x efficiency (50% to 65%) gives a real RMS value between 22 watts and 30 watts. And that in total, not per channel. It's hard to tell what the frequency response is like; but not bad for $35. Since TDH is 0.2% this is possible; but not at full capacity. FM mono; but the scan works fine. The line works perfectly. The USB MP3 was heavily distorted until the amp warmed up as other reviews said the file handling (one by one) was terrible. The remote control is almost useless, but not quite. The instructions are too small to read and are for two different amps. So you have to learn how to do things by trial and error. Blue Tooth works even with a regular transmitter, but the range isn't very good. Didn't use the mic so no comments on that. The same applies to the SD input. This amplifier has no line output and no jack socket. Also missing is a 3.5mm aux input. The amp does not have an internal fan, so it gets very hot; So I put an 80mm USB fan on top and it cools. Uses an amp with cheap speakers and has plenty of volume, good sound and low distortion at normal listening levels. Let's wait and see how the amp performs with better speakers and how long it lasts. This is normal for my salon and the imperfections found are not a killer for me due to the very low cost. So in summary I would recommend the amp if you know what to expect and can live with it. Update: Paired with Revain Basics 50W passive speakers; the sound is very good with normal listening. and speakers cost less than $40. Also heard XM over FM, not bad either

Cons
  • Damaged
