Installation instructions are not clear.

The block is pretty solid and I like that it comes with extra key switch covers. The installation instructions are useless. They took photos for reference but it still didn't make much sense to me. Through trial and error I figured it out, and if you're mechanical in any way, so are you. However, let me get a few things straight for you: the thin metal rod that comes with the kit attaches to a minion loop for your liberty top. . There are 2 screws included and after you put them in just tighten them up, if you have ball end hex wrenches they work better when put in at an angle to tighten them up. The latch for your Freedom Top fits into a hole cut in the panel itself. It's a tight fit, but it works. I've read a few posts where people have said it just lays there and is held in place with the liberty roof, maybe on some jeeps but on mine I could tighten it. There is a short red wire in the kit that attaches to the end of the circuit breaker and then cut into the fuse panel. It says to remove the 15A fuse from the M7 and insert it into the open groove of the cable that comes with the kit. I didn't have a fuse in the M7, I had a 20A in the M9 which is for the heated seats, you have to remove it so the end of the plug fits the red pigtail once you plug it in. It took me a minute to figure out where the fuse went because I didn't have a factory installed fuse so both slots were empty. The fuses plug into the back of the black end and then plug into the M7 point. If yours is the same as mine you will need to replace the 20A with a 15A and also add one of the 5A fuses that came with it. The system requires a 20A fuse which is not listed in the instructions. I had to do a lot of research to figure out what fuses should be in place. Please note: the system will not work unless both fuses are connected to this end of the pigtail. So 15A and 5A will give you the 20A you need. The instructions also say to remove the screw from the firewall and attach the circuit breaker to the firewall. I have a 2018 JK and there was no such screw. There's one in there, but it doesn't work with the nut and bolt the jeep needs to secure the breaker. I just attached it with zip ties and left it on the battery. So far so good, maybe I'll come up with something better in the future. Those are the little problems I had. Everything else went well and I am very happy with this panel. It's up and to the side and I love the way it looks! I hope that was helpful.
