Review on 🐠 XY-2831 Air Pump Sponge Filter for 10-Gallon Aquarium Tank: Efficient Filtration and Aeration by Ronald Corcoran

I just purchased and installed this filter to replace the overflowing HOB filter in my 10 gallon fighting tank. This sponge filter is just the right size for easy installation in the tank and the actual installation was easy. The water flow outlet pipe on the sponge filter is adjustable, allowing you to change the direction and height of the water flow. I also have a variable speed air pump for added control. A corner filter is installed in the aquarium as additional filtration and to support the biofilter during the transition, while the new biofilter is mounted on the sponge filter. The surface roughness is sufficient for normal gas exchange but not too great for a fighting rooster to easily swim through. Another advantage is that there is no need to buy and replace filter cartridges. At some point I will have to replace the sponges, but experience has shown that this will take months! Simple, easy to maintain and efficient! A very good buy at a reasonable price!
