Review on Xiaomi Mijia M365 Pro electric scooter, up to 100 kg, black by Janis Bike ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is acceptable.

My parameters for reference: weight 80, height 183. Again, the scooter pulls perfectly. I have nothing to compare it to, but the expectations were justified. Initially I wanted Dualtron, but I didn’t give it away for 100k+ for the fact that I had never tried it yet. And took it faster. My overall impressions of it are extremely positive. This is a compact city transport. And despite the fact that this is a transport, you can go to a store or a shopping center with it, take bread, and go home. Well, really convenient and fast. The only thing, of course, is bad that now I am not up to the daily norm of 10,000 steps. It turns out that in good weather to / from work on it, in the rain by car, and when to walk on foot? Therefore, if you are going to buy it, keep this in mind too (we don’t take winter into account :). If you still bought, then take care of the following additional things: 1. Rear fender support (AliExpress: xiaomi fender bracket, for example). 2. Spare bearings. 3. Sealant. Wing support can also be made by yourself from a skewer and heat shrink in the desired color (there are many options on the Internet). Bearing numbers: NTN 6002 LLU (front), NTN 6001 LLU (rear). Sealant will come in handy to insulate the rear light wire hole. If the wing support is not done in time, then over time, the wing will break from shaking in the attachment area and you will have to buy a new one, or glue the old one. // Small life hack. A hose-adapter is included with the scooter for pumping the front wheel. If you pump through it with a conventional pump without a valve, then when you unscrew it, there will never be 50 PSI in the wheel. In order for it to poison the air less, you need to take the elastic band with which the wire of the scooter's charger was fastened and wind it tightly several times around the connection between the screw head and the hose. Alternative: Wrap the connection with electrical tape. In general, I round off: a good scooter, despite its sores. If something new appears, or my electronics fall off, then I will definitely write here. Characters end in recall. Thank you for reading to the end! :)

Pros
  • 1. good traction. 2. compactness. 3. inflatable wheels. 4. appearance. 5. build quality. This list can certainly be continued, but in this review I will limit myself to them, and I will tell the rest. This is my first scooter (hereinafter referred to as xiaokat) in my life. On an ongoing basis, in winter and summer, I ride a bicycle from two-wheeled ones, there is nothing more to compare with. The first thing I noticed was traction in S mode. It is tangible and at first, with a quick start, you have to hold on to the steering wheel straight, because it goes forward. It was a very unusual feeling for me: you seem to be doing nothing, but you are being pulled somewhere, and even quickly. Moreover, on fine gravel, he constantly strives to slip, which is not pleasant at all, so it is better to drive uneven sections of roads in D, or even ECO mode. They allow you to dose the thrust of the motor-wheel more clearly, avoiding unplanned slippage. Despite the fact that there is almost no depreciation, inflatable tires dampen some of the road bumps, and with the legs slightly bent at the knees, they disappear altogether, but there’s nothing to be done with the steering wheel - your hands will feel all the bumps well. Another feature of the xiaokat is the low center of gravity. It is so low that it is quite difficult to catch the balance on two wheels while standing still. Hence a small plus - less likely to fly through the steering wheel when driving into a missed hole on the road. In general, the control is quite unusual, not at all cycling, but with a certain skill at maximum speed in the penguin position, you can enter turns like in MotoGP races.
Cons
  • I will write about the main, most critical shortcomings. 1. Rubbing the rear light wire. 2. Backlash of wheel bearings. 3. Backlash of the folding mechanism. 4. Protruding underbody protection bolts. 5. Electrical failure. Point-by-point comments. 1. New batches come with a metal wire protection in this area, but as the owners say, this does not save. The wire is still frayed, after protection. 2. Wheel bearings change without problems, numbers in the comments below. 3. Backlash is the most common problem of the previous model. The Pro-shki mechanism is almost the same, but the materials are different. Backlash may also appear, but in general things are better now. The problem itself is solved in the same way - installing a butterfly spacer of the desired thickness. 4. Protruding bottom bolts can be covered with a thicker protection (sold), or left as is and ride carefully. 5. Electronics. A few words about her below. In many ways, I think, the consequences of shortcomings or the shortcomings themselves can manifest themselves as a result of a combination of various factors, including the weight of the rider, driving style, mode of use. For example, the case of 2022 km of run in 2 months is known - and from the improvements, the scooter had the bearings replaced and the wing support installed. In general, the issue of shortcomings here is not so acute, since this model has collected almost all the sores of the previous one, they are known and solved at a low cost. In return, we get a reliable vehicle. The most critical thing here, perhaps, is the controller and "21" communication error with the battery. As one of the authors correctly noted in the previous review, it is not yet known how to fix it and at the moment it is a device replacement under warranty. In addition, there have been cases of controller and mosfet trace burnout after a heavy rider was lifted for extended periods in S mode. It is solved by soldering the controller tracks and replacing the mosfets (IRFB4110PBF) with similar ones (if nothing else burned out). By the way, do not forget that the scooter is not waterproofed, so it is not recommended to ride it in the rain.

Some pros: Nice, solid scooter. Easy to manage. Some cons: Heavy. Daughter 10 years old is hard to climb stairs.
