Review on BOYUURANGE Reisong A12: Superior EL34 12AX7 Hi-Fi Tube Amp for Audiophiles by Frankie Wesley

Got the amp last Friday just in time for the weekend. Out of the box I wasn't very impressed, but things started to improve after a few hours. The A-12 takes about 30 minutes to warm up to sound better, like most tube amps. My speakers can clip with solid state amplifiers and sound harsh. They prefer tubes. I'd say the A-12 has a solid 3.5 stars, subtracting one star for what appears to be the used rectifier tube that came with the unit. I have examined it carefully and it has been used many times unless made to look old fashioned. I contacted the company and they asked me to send them a picture of the tube. I really don't have time to jump through hoops for a tube. If the tube breaks in the future I will buy another one. I'll take off half a star until the sound improves, then I'll update the rating. Sounds really good now, but it didn't blow me away.
