Until last weekend I was quite happy with these trailer lights. I was driving the interstate and noticed that both lightbulbs were just hanging by wires! I thought maybe the nuts holding the headlights to the trailer were loose. What actually happened is that the plastic brackets on the back of the headlights, where the bolt head goes in to hold them to the trailer frame, literally sheared off. The bolts were still attached to the trailer, still holding useless inch-long plastic wedges that had broken off the lights. Luckily I didn't lose my number plate and was able to secure the headlights for the next 20 minutes of driving. The lights themselves still functioned normally. They were only a year old and had not been exposed to UV rays on a regular basis. They have also never been submerged in salt water. I can't imagine what force could turn the headlights off that wouldn't break the axle of my trailer.
