Great little sharpener. It doesn't take up much space on your desktop. When I'm done with that, I just push it out of the way. It has many functions. I particularly like the choice of pencil sharpness. For me the setting 1/2+ is good. Precisely. The other is the added benefits that come with it and the choice of performance. So far I have used battery operation with the supplied batteries. Pencil extensions are a pleasant surprise. I didn't know they existed. It's great when your pencil gets too short to hold comfortably. The erasers (2) work very cleanly. No problem emptying the trash can. The start-stop system is really good. This keeps us normal folks from screwing up the edge, and doesn't sharpen beyond your perfect sharpening choices. I'm no pro, just a regular "Joe" and wouldn't hesitate to use this in a heavier usage environment. I don't need a second sharpener, but I would go for this one. I am firmly convinced that I made the right choice. You won't find a better sharpener for the money.
