I bought these because I was so impressed with this company's glasses cleaning cloths (which are amazing). Side. Because microfiber holds so much water, it's even more difficult to keep it dry and odor-free than a sponge. And while they're washable, ideally microfibers should be washed without fabric softener, which means a separate wash. (You can buy Revain's microfiber towel cleaner, which has no additives.) They clean as well as a sponge, but rubbing them with a serrated knife can tear them apart. I have found that the abrasive side removes the soap film well, but I don't think I would do an entire shower stall tile by tile. So there's nothing wrong with that, but nothing special either, as far as I can tell. Haven't tried it yet, but if they go in the microwave to sterilize I'd say it's regular sponge binding. If they need to be washed, I think a sponge will win. Actually, I'm wondering if the abrasive side can ruin clothes in the washing machine.
