Fluffy towels are the best household items

Call me a believer. I was a little skeptical after reading many reviews but decided to give it a try anyway. I agree with other comments that you probably need to add fabric softener (either in the wash cycle or in the tumble dryer) to reduce static. But they seem to fluff up towels and flannel sheets and maybe speed up drying time a bit. I've found them most useful when the dryer is lightly loaded, where laundry sometimes sticks to the drum and won't spin because there isn't enough laundry. They seem to provide the critical mass needed to keep these items spinning in the dryer. They make a quiet "bang" when turning, but this is not disturbing. I learned very quickly not only to open the dryer door in the middle of the wash cycle, but also to leave it there completely. Otherwise, the Woolies play The Great Escape quite well. Several reviewers have suggested applying a drop or two of lavender oil to a wool towel before throwing it in the dryer to add scent to the towels. I tried some sheets and towels. When I opened the dryer, there was a wonderful scent. However, it wasn't enough to actually transfer the scent to the sheets and towels. So I put about 6-8 drops on a wool fabric and then used all three in the dryer. Fluffy, pleasantly scented towels and a wonderful scent of lavender in the laundry room. I limited myself to applying oil to just one wool fabric (which I made a note of) and not using that wool fabric to dry other clothes or fabrics. The husband tolerates the smell of lavender on towels and sheets, but not on his unpleasant things.
