You must get this. Throw away everything else.

If you want to use a high quality conductive foam pad to store ESD sensitive components, this is the material. With the ohmmeter leads about 1/2 inch apart I see about 4k ohms. It's not a true measurement of ohms per cm or anything like that, but it doesn't matter if you don't want to make resistors out of that material. When it comes to ESD protection, I've seen people use everything from plastic sheeting to polystyrene pads to closed-cell styrofoam material - all of which PROMOTE static electricity, not reduce it. damaged or something. It's a bit brittle, rough and friable by nature, so don't take a star off and send it back just because you didn't know it was such a material. If you want a material that isn't as friable, it is - at a much higher cost and much less power. Also, unless you're using a very sharp razor blade held at a slight angle when you're cutting this material, it will , again naturally crumble and tear when cut . I just cut four leaves into 18 4" x 2" pieces and the razor blade trick worked like a charm. The only problem I had was that I wasn't getting enough. away to buy more!
