I bought this for my 91 year old father who recently had a minor stroke. He transitioned from independence and mobility in a nursing home to being able to sit in a chair unaided. This shelf was the perfect solution for keeping all your essentials close at hand. We screwed it to the foot of his hospital bed, right next to the chair, and filled it with the essentials: Bible, reading glasses, book, napkins, notepad and paper, call button, etc. He's delighted and we're glad he's happy.
