the material is nice and thick, our boat is 19ft I/O, we order 20ft for extra space, fits well. Last night we had a thunderstorm (the first time we set up a shelter), the water didn't hold. We have a factory tarpaulin with latches inside (which is only water repellent and especially where the hanging racks are, water can still get in and the water then pools in the bilge/I/O engine bay). The inner lid protects the new lid from sagging and water pooling. I don't know about the durability as we just got it and not sure how the salty environment will affect it.
