Suitable for cheap equipment

I bought these for clamps on a table saw sledge. They're ok, but I'd like something nicer. However, they still get 4 stars for helping me get through my project, and for the price (cheap!) they're still decent value. The problem is that they appear cheap (things are flexible) and have very minimal customization. Area where they hold up well. You can't grab anything above the plane the base is on. So if you're holding something thicker than paper, you need to put the base on the platform. And if you want to hold objects of different thicknesses, you need to change platforms and reposition clamps. For me this means that my planing slide is only to be used for 1x and plywood, not for 2x blanks. Unless I replace the lift platform or build (and save) a second sled. Both options suck. Quality: Like I said, they seem cheap, but they work. The flexibility of everything contributes to a narrow area for good grip in my opinion. Too loose and things slip, too tight and the lock won't click. The depth is adjusted using 2 nuts tightened against each other. This works great, but is a bit cumbersome to set up. It's been a few months but if I remember correctly the screws that came with it were pretty much useless. You'll be lucky if you have 1/2" or 3/4" screws to attach them. Bottom line: If you just need to hold parts of the same thickness and don't mind mounting clamps on a platform of the same thickness, it's a good value. If you need more flexibility, choose another (possibly more expensive) option. I hope that was helpful.
