Review on Treatlife Smart Ceiling Fan Control: 4-Speed Switch, Works with Alexa and Google Assistant, Remote Control, Schedule, No Hub Required by Larkeese Casiano

Cruise control works with voice and Alexa routines! No Buzz :)

Works exactly as advertised! I've had issues with other fan speed control switches causing a "humming" fan and/or switch noise. The TreatLife brand does not have this problem. Once installed, my fan is as quiet as on a "dumb" switch. A few things to note: Before ordering, make sure you have a neutral (white in the US) wire behind your current switch! This won't work if you only have hot (line) wires. If you have a regular old switch, the neutral (white) wire will NOT be connected to the old switch. It's probably hidden in a wire nut box (see my setup photos). This smart switch is for fan only. If you have a fan and light combo you will need 2 wall switches - one for the light and one for the fan. TreatLife manufactures a variety of switches, plugs and light bulbs. If you have 2 switches (4 screws on the plate), this switch will work for your fan. You need an additional light switch. My setup photos are for a fan only (no light) replacing a switch that also doubles as a junction box for another light source in the house. My photos show 1 black input line, 1 black output line, 1 black charge, 3 white neutrals and a bare ground. Your setup will most likely have fewer wires. The installation kit includes screws, cable nuts, faceplate and cable labels. The free TreatLife app (second image) simplifies setup and gives you full control over on/off and speed. You can also create custom schedules (also free) to turn on/off/speed up the fan per day(s) and time(s). As long as you have WiFi at home or in the office, no additional hardware or subscriptions are required—it's all included with your Switch purchase. A small note on integration with Alexa. Others have found that you cannot control fan speed with Alexa/Google. I had the same problem during installation where you could only turn the fan on or off, but it went away after a few days. Now I can ask Alexa to "set fan speed 3" and set the speed in user procedures. Upon installation, Alexa added a "living room fan" with a "smart home" icon. If I ask Alexa to change the speed, the answer would be "The living room fan doesn't support this". I contacted tech support to see if the integration is supported as this is a fairly new product. Customer service is email based. It may take a few days for you to reply, but they are friendly, helpful and really solve problems! A few days later I asked the same question and to my surprise, Alexa said "OK" and the fan turned on at speed 3. The icon changed to a fan image and everything has been working great ever since! If you don't have a problem with the speed control, look at my last picture. Red arrows - Alexa settings window without cruise control support. The green arrows appeared after a few days and the cruise control worked. Not sure if there's a way to force changes, mine was automatic - be patient :) Nice modern look, I'm very happy with my purchase!
