I was disappointed after receiving this fancy tiny square but will keep it. A little under two thousand outside and about a thousand inside, plus there is a tiny hump on a short stem near the inside corner. I can try to fix it with stones but that would ruin the anodizing. Maybe I'll keep it for quick reference or maybe give it to a woodworking friend. I really like the compact size and picked this one from some great Czech Republic steel squares that cost a lot less because this one is nice and thick - 5/8" while the steel squares are 1/4" or less. Centering pins/holes are also a handy feature for a decent rough centerline mark. In general, I don't care about the quality of a finish as long as it's usable and doesn't have any major glitches. really dark where without direct decent lighting it appears almost black (kind of a very dark indigo but still on the blue side). For the price, even considering the American production, I expected it to be square, especially considering the very short legs. never mind If you want real precision, even a "workshop" square is much better than the one I got, and for less than half the price you can get a toolmaker's square. But I keep it.
