Review on Mopar 56027870 Crankshaft Position Sensor: Accurate Engine Monitoring for Peak Performance by Darryl Montagna

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Should have gotten the MOPAR EOM sensor right away.

Bought another brand crankshaft position sensor (non EOM) and still had problems with our 97 Dodge Dakota for 6 months and I was wondering what else the problem with the truck was . I read online that the problem could be that I didn't buy a Mopar product due to sensor tolerance requirements. I thought it was nonsense but after many months of frustration I finally broke down and spent extra money to get this and damn it if that wasn't the problem. The truck is running great now. I know the EOM may not be needed for all types of repairs, but I would recommend it for the crankshaft position sensor.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Something is wrong
