Thick, strong plastic. The shape is good for deep mattresses. I will also save them for my next step.

Worked great. Please note that it has no glue, zipper, etc. So if you want to seal it completely you will need tape. The plastic is strong enough to be used as a handle to lift the mattress. I used one bag for a queen size mattress and put a very large beanbag in the other. I've had to drag the beanbag across the concrete a few times and the plastic hasn't cracked or anything. Very satisfied.
