Before purchasing I used separate bungee cords to secure the load on the trailer bed. This is a much better solution. Since it stretches over whatever you pull, you don't have to worry about running out of guy ropes or not having enough guy ropes of the right size. The only problem you need to be aware of is that it can get confusing. a little up; You just have to be careful about picking this up from your carrier. To avoid tangling, I leave the back hooked, unclip the front and sides, and then slide the front over the back. I don't see any way to avoid this with a product like this, so I still give it the best rating. I'm much more confident using my hitch platform with this one. There are so many hooks securing the load that you really don't have to worry if one or even a few come loose (this hasn't happened to me). It would be much worse for the hook to come loose if separate bandages were used over each item. Just for reference, I have a Surco 24x60 weight carrier for a 2" hitch receiver. The hooks work well with the handrails on this cargo carrier.
