Two hinge screws were snapped from my wife's closet door. I was going to put some dowels in the holes and re-drill, but decided to use these 3" hinged screws instead. They were exactly what I needed. They've hit the hairpin and I'm sure they're set indefinitely. Additionally, their antique brass finish matched the original hinge screws. Advice. I've had bad experiences with screw heads coming loose from long screws (but not with these screws). So, just in case, I deepened the pilot hole (the original hole was only 3/4" deep) and coated the screw with beeswax before screwing it in. The bit I used for the new pilot hole was 3/32, but i think it was too small 7/64 or 1/8 would be better.
