Look at the photos. Flir couples the real image to the thermal image, and if it does seem to produce good images... until both images line up properly. I used the calibrate option but when I changed the angle the image became misaligned. The Flir Pro has two temperature range settings, the higher range was only used for the fireplace. In terms of image quality, the HT-18 has the highest thermal resolution sensor (220x160), followed by Flir Pro (160x120) and finally Flir One (80x60). Flir makes you take a 1440 x 1080 resolution photo and then superimpose a thermal image over it. The HT-18 stores images at 240 x 320 pixels, so I had to enlarge them for comparison. I really like the extra "thermal" detail the HT captures, as the Flir seems to blur the images too much (due to the lower resolution thermal sensors), but the HT-18 has a smaller field of view. In terms of accuracy, it's hard to say since I have these three devices and an IR thermometer. For comparison, the 3D printer platform - the printer was heated to 80 °C. The HT seems to match any IR thermometer that performs better than the Flirs. A couple of points: Flir - low storage space, photos right on the phone, easy to share, they need to be charged separately from the phone. A software is limited to one measuring point, Flir watermarks on all photos. HT-18 - higher refresh rate and fewer "calibration pauses", more reliable in hand and less like a toy, 18650 battery means it's more or less easy to swap out, my computer refuses to deal with HT-18 connect when plugged into USB ports 3, USB 2 works fine, my laptop doesn't care, my phone with USB C to USB 3 adapter works fine. I will keep the HT-18 and hope it lasts a long time.
