I'm a mechanic. So I work in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. I used this type of thermometer for years and then switched to a new battery powered digital model to keep up. Every time I tried to use my modern battery powered thermometer, the battery died or some other malfunction occurred. This model has stood the test of time. No batteries to interfere with reading or interrupt your work. The pressure gauge is adjustable. Simply pour into a glass of ice water, stir, read or set 32 degrees. Calibration is very easy. Sometimes the old school is better!
