I recently bought the first generation. The head was more flexible/thinner and longer. Not to mention that the flat glass was a bit thicker. This has a short/thick/inflexible head when attached to glass. The handle is heavier, which is nice. The grip is also better. The pen looks more finished. But the short thick head attached to the round glass is so inflexible that it is difficult to write quickly because the short stroke seems to distort. Generation 2 is better than Generation 1 because it is more recognizable to the digitizer.
