I ordered this device to use the service offered by Directv. If you have a dashcam from them and subscribe to their service, you can use On Demand. It allows you to download movies, shows and other media files from your internet connected computer. This can be done in several ways. For the sake of simplicity, I chose the wireless route. Hence the reason to buy a Linksys Wireless-N Dual Band Gaming Adapter. I've read several other reviews of people having trouble getting the unit to work with a Directv DVR. I found that connecting the adapter to my Westell modem/router (supplied by AT&T for their DSL service) couldn't be easier. With Directv you can go from the DVR to your menu and configure the adapter. I was able to complete the process with no problems. The adapter is connected to the modem/router and I got it working. All in all I am very satisfied with the Linksys Wireless-N Dual Band Gaming Adapter. I'm fine with what should be.
