We bought the new red CX5 a few weeks ago and I've added some personal touches and this case is one of them. I received my new media panel cover today. Not as bright as the original glossy black, but much more practical and still looks good. Installation couldn't be simpler, but a customer or two later had trouble opening the lid. The lid may have warped slightly when removed from the plastic bag it came in by pushing the lid out rather than cutting the bag open. The metal cover is necessarily thin so that it can be bent easily. If it's not flat to begin with, the summer heat can cause the tape in the stress zone to peel off and the lid to lift off, as stated in the review. I do not regret buying this case. Update almost two years after purchase, July 2019: For me, the silver version of the media panel was the best choice because it never looks dirty. Don't climb anywhere because I made sure it was perfectly level before installing it. I'm so glad I bought the silver metallic version as the original glossy black cover would certainly look dusty and dirty if it wasn't cleaned constantly. On a flat surface, it picks up dust and the occasional fingerprint, but on this silvery metal, dust isn't visible and there are no fingerprints.
