This is an excellent replacement part for these switches. The chrome on my original factory unit was chipping and the dealer said you had to buy the whole shift knob to get the cover. This snaps straight into place as a replacement, there is no visible difference and no more chrome peeling off the original that can stick or cut your hand.

Excellent replacement for the original part where the chrome is worn. Fits well, a little difficult to get the plastic tabs of the old parts out of the holders. It snaps in well, it has a slightly larger gap between the switch body and the cover, but I wouldn't have noticed it unless I saw it close to the real thing. Some reviews have said you don't need to remove the old lid tabs, but I found that wasn't the case in my case. happy with it

I bought an F-150 that didn't have a cover on the shifter. This one was the perfect replacement. I had to get a screwdriver and needle nose pliers to first remove one of the broken tabs (the back one I think) but the other two tabs on this replacement cap clip are different from the OEM so I didn't have to try to remove those two broken ones first . It looks exactly as it should. I am very happy with it.

Impressed with this product. It was inexpensive to buy and shipped quickly. Make sure you remove the old broken tabs from the switch and scrape off any old glue if anyone has "fixed" this before. As others have said, this cover does not attach exactly like a factory part. In the center are two clips that wrap around the molded plastic bracket inside the switch. Then there are small plastic flanges where you would expect the clamps to be. They must be oriented in the correct direction to fit around the original clamp body. The chrome on my factory cover is chipping. The chrome was so sharp that it cut my finger deep enough that I wanted stitches, but being a car enthusiast I just took duct tape and toilet paper and taped my finger until I got home to get super glue and taped my finger to it . close.
