I ordered 2 of these. installed them on the edge of a second floor window looking down. They cover the street and driveway and will "get closer" when I'm watching a live stream on my phone. I feel like a genius connecting them to a wireless router and then physically installing them. The little blue lights they emit tell anyone looking around that the place is being observed and that has to be the EASIEST observation I've ever had. I downloaded the CloudEdge app (and it connects both cameras to my phone and tracks them in real-time! One camera sees better than the other and I think it's because of the install location, they pair better with the iNet wireless Network at my location is connecting.(I'm considering changing this but one is also not responding at the moment.) But I still have the other fully functional and can be disabled and effortlessly control property. They should be out but I have them indoors (at the moment) The easiest part is that they plug straight into a 110 outlet but (I'm very handy) I could just plug the cord into the same outlet and easily install it or... set it up that way Make sure the wire goes through the wall the plug and just seal the hole and block with some caulk it's very easy anyway but you need a power source le (see my penultimate paragraph below for comments from a reviewer who complained xia about this lol.) I used to have to subscribe (yes, with a monthly fee!) to an online surveillance website that provided about 30 days of CCTV footage for kept me Even if I just wanted to watch some earlier recordings, I would have to pay a bit more. and if I had to "pull" the footage, there was an extra charge. Needless to say, with these cameras (yeah yeah I know, welcome to the 2020s lol) I don't need any of those and for $35 each I feel like I got a great deal. I also bought an SD card ($12 for 2) which says they are 64GB but they could be smaller but who cares. it's a flippin DEAL. ! so glad i bought it. I haven't really tried "record". so idk how much "memory" sd cards really have, but i recorded a few seconds on my phone and it saved them in the "album". There until only 2 (records). I sent myself one and reproduced it, so it works too. The picture on them is not outstanding but still very good and just enough to make out tag numbers (license plates) and other features and you can "zoom in". Night vision is great for the money, although I have a mercury light (very bright) that illuminates where you're looking so nighttime isn't needed as much as some areas can be darker. I will tell you that the placement of the light itself is a powerful crime deterrent, the cameras are a deterrent too, but combining a light (inexpensively) with a security camera is a win-win and something that is seriously in should be considered. Gosh, I hope these are the last ones. I read a few reviews that said they stopped working after a few months. If that happens I'll definitely update them, but for now I have to give a whopping 5 stars! Finally, I should mention the following: One reviewer stated that the term "wireless" was "misleading". HE THOUGHT YOU CAN GET WIRELESS POWER. ! YOU CAN GET POWER FROM NOTHING WIRELESSLY! Even solar should be routed to the device you are powering. I can't believe the stupidity of this review! and then 12 other people clicked on how "helpful" his review was. ! (What's wrong with common sense?) Think about it: If you could get power "wirelessly," we'd never have to charge our phones. "Wireless" is how these cameras interact with data, which they can send, store, record, etc., but they have a plug that you plug into a regular 110 outlet. Easy. OK. I hoped this helped. If it was helpful to you, please show it by clicking the "Help" button, as this helps me know what details are best to include in my reviews and which you might find helpful in my reviews (plus, I appreciate that feedback). Today I have not received any incentive, product or validation of my opinion. I just wanted to talk about the decent items I buy. I'd say a solid 4.5 stars for them. Half a star for the lower resolution video quality, but overall at $35 the cost for this camera, features, etc just can't be beat, so I'll round up. 5 Stars !
