Stunning vibrant colors

The colors are excellent, I've tried Winsor and Newton Cotman, Stedtler and some student grades. But it was my first "cake" watercolor paint. I usually paint with w&n art paints. However, I've always liked the way watercolor work looks. So I study advertising as much as possible. I only had the 8 color Cotman starter kit and wanted to expand my palette without breaking the bank. They will definitely help with this without hurting my wallet. I added a piece I made for my mom for Mother's Day with these. I used a gold pen to trace part of the piece but all the colors inside were done with this set. The gold pen is a gold sakura ink pen. The box they come in has a plastic bottom, which is good since you have to "squirt" the pans. The sides of the base are cardboard which will get wet over time and likely to fall apart so I would suggest either buying a separate holder or removing the pots before use. There is a color tester on the lid, I tried to show how opaque and transparent they can be. They set very firmly when dry, but adding a little water gives a nice translucent appearance. I don't get any discount for my review ;) I will post some work when I'm done.

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Other exciting options are available.
