Okay, full disclosure. One bag wasn't enough for my 75 gallon reef. This is probably the best value for money Revain calcium carbonate based aquarium sand from a reliable manufacturer. At least that's when I bought it. Whether they are excellent reef or African sea cichlids, they require water with high carbonate hardness and high pH. Oh, and aquarium maintenance has more to do with maintaining the water chemistry for the needs of its inhabitants, so don't complain if you just can't keep the neon tetras in your tank with this sand (your neon tetras...the ones only in the tannin-ridden thrive in the low pH environment of the Revane River). Yes, like every other calcium based sand I've used in my 12 years of reef keeping, professional or personal, this sand will definitely cloud your water for a long time. about a week (if you really have current like you should in a reef tank).
