I did not even know there was such a thing but my son had one in his new house and I thought it was so cool and convenient! It is easy to install and you don't need special tools unless you have to drill a hole in your countertop. There are several youtube videos on how to do that if you want to tackle that kind of project. I was lucky and my sink had extra holes already there.
