I am chronically allergic and based on the improvement in my symptoms I can say the air is cleaner after a full week of use. We have two large dogs and a house full of children between our own and their friends who come so there is a lot of dust being picked up and brought in. We only turned it off to open it up to see how much dust and other airborne particles it had collected. I checked out the filter at the 5 day mark and was amazed at how much it had already collected! I cleaned it today with a vacuum brush head following the simple maintenance instructions in the manual and plan to do so until it's time to replace it. The manufacturer recommends using a new pre-filter every 2-3 months and a new HEPA filter every 12 months or sooner depending on maintenance and usage. I was able to get it cleaner after a few more passes with the vacuum brush. The device itself is so easy to use and so quiet on low settings that we don't even notice it's on. We leave it on the second setting most of the time and run it on Turbo (the highest setting) for a few nights in the main part of our house. We plan on bringing it to other parts of the house every few weeks to clean the air throughout the house until we can buy another one. We also used the UVC and Ion settings and they seem to do the job. One baby got sick shortly after we had her, so I put her on UVC for the first few days as an extra measure to keep the other germs from sharing. So far no one has been sick and the child is doing well again. Overall I highly recommend this product. It's the perfect compact size, well made and works great. Anyone with allergies should have this in their home, especially if they have children and/or pets. I'm so thankful we decided to go ahead and get one!
