It's great. I don't have a before and after photo because I bought it to protect a new chess board, but it was amazing nonetheless. As for the "elbow lube" element: JUST HEAT FIRST. That's all you have to do. In fact, I poured water from my kettle into a serving bowl and put the nail polish jar in for about five minutes before I started. Do this and I promise you will have no problem applying it and it will still dry on your wood as intended. This is a great product that will probably last me for a decade and the fact that it was made by a real person who clearly cared is a huge bonus. As for the smell, it's just lovely. There is a real difference in the depth and beauty of an all natural fragrance versus all chemical fragrances in most products but I don't think I really appreciated it until I used this one. It's just a whole different kind of satisfaction.
