Has Rough Edges - Knitting & Crocheting

How would you describe an item that doesn't look properly assembled? They have patches that are not smooth and will snag the yarn. It can be sanded down with coarse sandpaper but I don't need to fix what I just bought. They feel good in the hand, but the plastic could be softer.
