This KVM switch didn't work for me

I've spent many hours working with this KVM switch to set it up. The best I could do was get it working with a computer. The same computer only worked when connected to port-2 or port-3. After several tries I came to the conclusion that ports 1 and 4 must be bad. I then moved on to the next task of connecting a second computer (using ports 2 and 3). As soon as I connected the second computer, the KVM switch failed again. (Before connecting to the second computer, the switch worked fine for the already connected first computer, but the second computer failed even for the first computer.)
