So, the good stuff first. Very easy to install. mirrors are clean Powder coating is ok. Nuts appear to be of good quality. The mirror head adjustment bushing is easy to adjust to your desired tension and can be tightened with three small Phillips head screws to keep it from moving (head only). The not so good part. As expected, with only one mounting point, the vibration is significant at 20+ mph (and I'm talking stock tires here on a 10,000-mph 18-jl). over 45 it gives the impression of the presence of the car, over 55 everything is blurry. Above 65-70 the mirrors tend to move so vibration is no longer an issue!. Well, having said that, I have to say I did NOT install them the way they recommended. They recommended that you put lock washers directly into the top and bottom door hinges I believe to stop the movement. So top to bottom mirror, nut, lockwasher, top edge of door hinge (plastic insert and then hinge), hinge, lockwasher, nut, locknut. Uh, no thanks, that's not going to happen with my jeep. First, the top lock washer will simply tear the hinge's plastic insert into pieces and make the top surface of the hinge rough, which is not good for your door installation. come back when you're done. Second, you want the bottom lock washer to be right at the base of the hinge. I don't know about your hinges, but mine has paint around the edges below. If you put a lock washer on it, the paint will chip, something horrible. I put flat washers between the lock washers and the hinge on the top and bottom. After putting them on well enough it worked great until I hit 120 km/h and suddenly I could see the side of my seat and not the road. Maybe you can tighten them up. I didn't mean to pull them so tight. They whistle a little at around 40-45. It's a jeep so I'm not too worried but they are. In any case, your Jeep over 45 is too loud to hear even a tiny whistle. I will only say. Finally, since the entire stem is threaded, the threads still corrode the plastic insert. I think this is because the threaded rod moves as you adjust the mirrors by rotating the frame that goes through the hinge (not the mirror head itself, just the frame) since the rod diameter is slightly smaller than the diameter of the hinge hole engaged. Plastic insert and still chews it. (See pic. The damage extends about 1/2 inch into the loop. This is after maybe 5 days on the jeep). Perhaps you could sharpen the threads on the rods a bit to make them blunter, but that would only make them smaller. Diameter and move more, but maybe that's better than sharp threads corroding the liner. For now I will continue to use and improve. You'll want to keep the plastic insert and paint around the bottom edges of your (at least mine) hinges.
