I didn't realize it wasn't an adhesive when I bought it, but I actually prefer it that way because it can be used more than once. I've almost always used ZooMed's traditional heating pads that stick to the bottom of the tank, but on my plastic tank for my redtail boa constrictor, I couldn't get the glue to stick well, meaning my poor snake wasn't getting the right heat. With this heating pad, I put it straight into the trash can and the snake is way better than before. The heating pad needs a knock but I'm fine with that as it means I can use it again. The notebook is like a large laminated map. I would recommend this pad if you are ok without glue. Heats up quickly too. You have to turn it down and you MUST use a thermostat like all other heating pads.
