These lights arrived a day before the promised date. They work well and the price is amazing. You will easily pay the same price for 2-3 fluorescent lamps from competing brands. I have been using these lamps for several years in the room where my houseplants overwinter, which need a higher level of light. I love the light from these bulbs so much I have just placed a second order to replace all the bulbs in my house. I had no problem with them being a fire hazard. They burn hotter than standard fluorescent bulbs, but I would be skeptical about using anything other than a standard fluorescent bulb in a lamp or fixture with plastic parts next to the lamp. Some of them burned out sooner than they should, but no more than the expensive brands I've bought.
