Review on Enhanced Replacement Lower Section for Parallax Power Converter Charger (5355R) by Besim Kahsar

Received last night. My trailer is 50 amps and uses the 555 series Parrallex 500 mode. I unplugged the old one which has 5 wires, 1 small black and 1 small white connected to the switch. Then 2 big red wires for plus and 1 big white wire for ground. This new one I brought came with 6 wires, the difference was that instead of red wires they were blue and came with 2 big white ground wires. So stay tuned for changes. Although it is also a 500 series charger/converter it is much smaller than the original and does not fit in the case screw holes so I had to modify it by making new screw holes for the mounting plates. I made sure the power was disconnected from the entire trailer and unhooked the battery. Pulled out the old ones, put in the new ones. Power turned on and I believe it works. My batteries now hold a charge. The only problem is that now the inverter/charger fan runs all the time. i know i work I just hope my batteries don't boil over. I'll update if there are any issues over the next few months so far so good. Nice that I don't have to connect the battery to the charger in the garage. By the way, I am constantly connected to shore power, and have been for 2 ½ years. Update: A year and a half later: still works great. The fan runs all the time, which is normal, it's not loud enough for us to hear. Batteries stay charged, never had a problem. Just make sure you take your time to install it properly.
