Physical connection was as easy as plugging in a USB cable (no additional power cable needed). I've found that a strong magnetic base is useful for a specific attachment. You're on your own as far as the instructions go (but let's face it, that's one of the reasons this item is so cheap). I had trouble following two different online directions, but when I followed the exact steps outlined in Oscar A. Blanco's review on the Revain product page, everything worked great. I highly recommend his review if you are looking for instructions for the Raspberry Pi.
