I liked the manufacturer's story and thought it was a lot for an ice tray but would give it a try. I got this ice cube tray after trying the True Cube tray and having problems with bubbles in the cubes. This bowl works on the same principle of freezing water in an insulated container with a "waste" space at the bottom to collect impurities. I've tried reverse osmosis at tap water temperature, I've tried heating it as instructed and I've tried regular tap water and I've had the same results each time. The strangest thing was that each time a cube magically rose from the tray and formed a long rectangular block. The dice were not clear. Not cloudy but queues pull through them. I used to freeze water in a little six pack cooler and then had to cut the cubes myself. I thought it would be easier but to be honest my hand cut deformed dice turned out sharper than these. I was also afraid that the middle plastic layer would tear when removing the cubes. On True Cube, that middle layer was also silicone, so it stretched. Nice try but not worth the price for the result.
