Had arthroscopic knee surgery 3 days ago and this system works great. The only downside is that you have to manually inflate and deflate the clamp using gravity feed. All night (they want you to have ice 24/7 for the first 3-5 days) isn't that convenient as the tape needs to be refilled about once an hour to keep it cold. The cooler itself keeps water and ice cold for 6-8 hours as advertised. Haven't used motorized models yet but might be worth a try so you don't have to wake up every few hours. Other reviews say the valve leaks, not in my case and have been found to work better with the hose left connected, although it can be removed and passed through if needed.
