Review on TriMark 601650 Door Handle Black by Dylan Hohd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Some modifications needed

The door handle was very similar to the Trimark handle on my 2016 Thor Miramar 34.2 and my previous 2015 Thor ACE 29.3. The bolt on this one has been replaced with steel instead of appearing like cast metal on the old knobs. At first glance, you might not notice the difference in the handles. The new version has two unused "tabs" on the internal bolt connection. Those ears kept the handle from entering my factory door. I removed the unused "ears" with some dams and a dremmel tool. After removing the handle, it snapped in nicely. Attention: The trigger has two spacer plates on the latch side, which are held in place by two fastening screws and two firing pins. If you remove the old lock and install a new lock, these gaskets can easily fall into the door frame. This happened to me, which required removing the door and shaking out the panels through a hole in the handle. The two locking bolts were too short when delivered and hit the locking plate on the door post, causing the door to drag. The original locks had a washer on each bolt that was far enough away that the door closed without being pulled. I used one of the washers on a new lock and it worked fine. I lost one of my old washing machines. These washers must have the correct hole diameter to engage and disengage the shoulders of the mating bolts. I managed to find a washing machine that fits in my bin so isn't too exotic. That took me about 2 hours. It would have been 1 hour if I hadn't dropped the plates at the door.

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
