My granddaughter has been playing with it for 18 months now and loves it. Overall quality is very good, although it managed to bite off a spotted dog's plastic nose. It was the only piece that came off. On examination the nose was fairly well attached, broken off rather than glued, but somehow she found a seam and worked it until a piece came loose. The tension springs are a little weak, but still work. We gave her when she was 6 months old and she just turned 2 years old. There is no sign of paint peeling. Apparently all parts are made of colored plastic.
