Review on πŸ› οΈ Efficient Sanding with Shop Fox D2823 Small Sanding Tool by Brian Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A must-have tool for the meticulous craftsman

No serious woodworker can achieve the best finish without a variety of abrasive tools, each suited to their application. When I need to hand sand flat surfaces I use the Shop Fox D2823 sanding block. I have five of these, each labeled with increasing grit, from 120 to 320. While changing the paper is simple and easy, I like the convenience of just switching to a finer grit without fuss. This is my favorite tool for hand finishing flat surfaces. With a felt pad, it glides gently over the wood and conveys subtle nuances. It almost seems to stick to the surface. Also, it doesn't round the edges and creates a bulging crown. Interestingly, I didn't buy all five blocks at once. I bought one instead and liked it so much I've added it to my collection - and will probably buy another one. This sanding block is a nice weight and feel - to the point that it somewhat offsets the hassle of manual sanding. And it's the best you can expect from a basic wooden sanding block.
