The cable does what it promises. only at annoyingly slow speeds. The 4-bit baud rate is reminiscent of time travel in the old days of DOS. A crossover cable may work better, but both computers must be in the same workgroup. Never tried with a domain. So if you need to sync/transfer a file from your home computer to your work computer, you may need to switch between domain and workgroup.
