I installed this fan in the cabinet that sits under the TV in my living room. I have a couple of gaming systems along with all Verizon FiOS hardware, a Blu-ray player, a power strip, and a wireless printer. The biggest source of constant heat is the FiOS hardware. It always heats up and raises the temperature by about 5 degrees Fahrenheit. This is due to several vent holes I drilled in the back of the cabinet. That was before I installed the fans. Installing the fan was pretty easy. The kit includes a guide that can be glued to the cabinet. I was able to cut the hole very cleanly with a dremel. Once installed, the fan cools the cabinet very well. There is a noticeable difference in air temperature inside the cabinet, and equipment that used to feel very warm is now only slightly warmer than room temperature. The fans have three speeds. I didn't notice a huge temperature difference between medium and high, but the difference in noise levels is noticeable at all levels. Installation tip: I didn't notice any temperature difference whether the fans were blowing in or blowing out. However, blowing air into the cabinet can make it dustier, so I installed fans to blow the air out. Overall, this is a really great solution for removing heat from a hot media/entertainment cabinet.
