Review on Carter P76100M Fuel Module Assembly by Carlos Abood

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Sudden problem with fuel gauge

Pump runs louder than OEM. never mind However, a few days after installation, problems with the gas sensor began to appear. Half full reading stuck, but tank was empty. My poor daughter has been tearing her hair out for days trying to shoot her dead car only to find the tank is empty. Good day. It should be noted that this block includes the float and gas gauge transmit block as an integral part so all the 'fun' of resetting the gas tank may need to be redone as this will be a defect in this brand new part. . We spent $100 more than we could because I wanted a better brand name. Carter has always been a classic fuel pump supplier. Give it a few days to see if it breaks and move on, but I'm afraid an exchange will have to be arranged. That's the last thing you want with the replacement of that particular auto part. I'm leaving the rating in the middle as I'm not sure if something else has failed in the communication line from the fuel level sensor on this pump and the actual sensor on the dash. BIG crap. Be warned - spend as much as you can on quality parts as this particular repair is far from fun and is moderately dangerous due to the risk of injury and fire. As with any purchase, in a world where China is both the only supplier and our opponent, GOOD LUCK.

Pros
  • Fuel pumps and accessories
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
