I bought 1mm and 1.5mm not knowing exactly what thickness I want and 1mm was ok. Surprisingly, the clasp stays at the back when worn. They usually slide around to be visible. I don't know why it doesn't work. Maybe it's the pendant that hangs from it, or the length. IDK, but I'm very happy. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of shine. It's not boring and certainly doesn't stop me from wearing it every day, but what it replaced had a slight sheen to it due to the way the links were cut. I would only notice that in a direct comparison
