That's what I expected and wanted. This is not a fire safe and I wasn't expecting it either, so make sure you know this before you buy. The packaging was not perfect because the inner bottom was not securely packaged. This meant the shelf could be shifted, causing minor scratches; Nothing I would be upset about, but your opinion may differ. This situation could be worse, so keep that in mind. Programming is easy and I had no problems; requires 4 AA batteries. TBD for long-term use and functionality.
